Dear Russell T Davies
You sir, you are a complete fucking nutter. But oh my days, let the fun begin. Yours, a very happy little Dr Who fan. |

The Chinaman in the negotiation room with the two letter word
Another tidbit to add to the general wailing about Copenhagen.
Remarkably short-sighted of the Chinese government if true. Perplexing also: my impression is that anthropomorphic climate change
is accepted as scientific fact by the Chinese government and by Chinese society generally (and that climate change
denialism is overwhelmingly a Western phenomenon).
Surely China is not less vulnerable to the effects of climate change than Europe or America?
Note the complicity of the Indian government also. |

Medicine use by dates
Beechams All-in-One Tablets use by dates:
- end 5/2010
- end 7/2009
- end 11/2009
- end 1/2010
Wondering how strict use by dates are on solid medicine. |

Whose bright idea was it to schedule the Copenhagen climate change summit during a bitterly cold winter period? |

Facebook privacy
I can’t help feeling it would be hypocritical to get too irate about Facebook making lots of my information public.
LJ (and DW) make public your avatars and your flists, for example (although we’re not expected to use our real names here).
But what FB does is let you get comfortable posting things in private, revamp its privacy settings system every year,
and use the opportunity to push you into making everything public (that’s what the default was this time).
That feels sleazy, like bait-and-switch. |

Ssh not shh
Dear Ubuntu,
I like that I can
- sit at box A
- ssh into box B
- run a program on box B which
- takes its keyboard and mouse input from box A
- displays its window on box A
- plays its audio output through box B’s speakers
But I would like the audio output to be forwarded over the ssh connection and played through box A’s speakers instead.
How do I do this? |
